AMITABH BACHCHAN SHARES AN ANECDOTE FROM DEEWAR

The knotted-shirt look never gets old. But did you know that the iconic look of Amitabh Bachchan from Deewar was a tailoring glitch? Amitabh often shares BTS pictures and anecdotes from his movies. On Tuesday (June 22), Amitabh took to social media and shared an interesting fact from his much-popular film Deewar.

The actor shared his iconic look and revealed that the shirt was by mistake made so long that they had to knot it up. Amitabh wrote that there was no time to replace the shirt or the actor and hence the team improvised.

He wrote, " those were the days my friend .. and the knotted shirt .. it has a story .. first day of shoot .. shot ready .. camera about to roll .. and the discovery that the shirt has been made too long - beyond the knees .. director could not wait for another shirt or a replaced actor .. so tied it up in a knot and (sic)."

The 1975 film Deewar was written by Salim-Javed and was directed by Yash Chopra. The film starred Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Neetu Singh, Nirupa Roy and Parveen Babi. Deewar was highly appreciated by both fans and critics.
