However, the Income Tax department rejected the disclosure stating it to be “false”. “A family of four declarants namely, Abdul Razzaque Mohammed Sayed (self), Mohammed Aarif Abdul Razzaque Sayed (son), Rukhsana Abdul Razzaque Sayed (wife) and Noorjahan Mohammed Sayed (sister), who were shown as residents of Flat no. 4, Ground Floor, Jubilee Court, 269-B, T.P.S-III, Linking Road, Bandra (W), Mumbai, filed a total declaration of Rs 2 lakh crore,” the finance ministry said.

Soon your 12-digit Aadhaar number could replace all card transactions as the government is gearing up to strengthen the Aadhaar enabled transactions as part of its drive to help India become a cashless  economy. The move, which is part of an all-round approach towards enabling digital payments and is being driven by NITI Aayog, would also see government soon coming out with a clear-cut defined policy to disincentivise cash transactions in the country.

Debt not cause of farmers suicide but social, personal and genetic conditions says psychiatrist

"We cannot explain farmer suicides as an outcome of debt, but the reasons stem from social, personal and genetic conditions", said Dr. Rajeev Trehan, incharge of psychiatry and de-addiction department of Civil Hospital. He was speaking at the first Annual Conference of Society for Rural Mental Health, which took off on Saturday. Theme of the two-day conference is suicide prevention and promotion of mental health.
