Since March this year, things have changed drastically for the film and entertainment industry in India. World premieres on Amazon Prime Video and other prominent OTT platforms has quickly become a “new normal”. Producers, forced by the unavailability of movie theatres, are being forced to release their movies online. In fact, it is a profitable move as streaming platforms are paying huge amounts for the exclusive streaming rights. Let’s take a look at all the new movies on Amazon Prime Video that will have their world premieres in July 2020.

1.Sufiyum Sujatayum (Malayalam)
Starring Jayasurya (Rajeev) and Aditi Rao Hydari (Sujata) in lead roles, Sufiyum Sujatayam will release on Amazon Prime Video on 3rd July. The film is an eternal love story focusing on the transition of an innocent Malayali girl and her love for a Muslim-origin man. The early focus is on their budding love story, that’ll warm your heart. However, things take a turn as her parents decide that she is to get married to Rajeev.


2. Law (Kannada)


Directed by Raghu Samarth, this thrilling story is one of the movies on Amazon Prime Video that’s making its world premiere on 17th July. Law revolves around Nandini (Ragini Chandran) who is a lawyer, fighting women’s rights cases. The movie also features veteran actor Mukhyamantri Chandru, Siri Prahlad, Achyuth Kumar and Sudharani in prominent roles. It is the first movie from the Kannada film industry to release directly on an OTT platform.


3. French Biryani (Kannada)

Another new movie on Amazon Prime Video, French Biryani will be available to subscribers in the latter half of the month – July 24. Following the first Kannada movie’s OTT release, French Biryani is under the same production house as Law, PRK productions and is directed by Pannaga Bharana. The movie, which promises a ton of gags, covers the three-day journey of a French expatriate and an auto driver in Shivaji Nagar.
