At the beginning of Ayurveda, during Saraswathi Civilization (8000 BCE) various methodologies were developed to prevent the occurrence and spread of infectious diseases. They were aware of “shookshmannu (Viruses), krimi (Bacteria)” is the cause of some of the diseases. These diseases spread among the population by drinking contaminated water, breathing air, eating food, and in contact with diseased persons.

Ayurveda developed a universal vaccination or immunity developing strategies. They are physical (Yoga, oil Massage, Panchakarma, Sun Bath, Water Therapy, Fasting, Kalahari (Martial Arts), chemical - Rasayana (Svarna Bindu (Gold), Medicinal Plants, alone or in combinations with metals, minerals) and biological (Variolation for smallpox).

These methods of vaccination from childhood, adult to old age, are daily, season-specific, and annual. The modern idea of biological vaccination was borrowed from Ayurveda. For the last 200 years, disease-specific vaccines were developed for smallpox, rabies, influenza, pneumonia, hepatitis, etc to control the occurrence of deadly diseases. Even though these vaccines were tested and tried in clinical trials before approval (takes roughly 10 years) for the use of human populations all exhibited some form of adverse effects.

These are mild adverse effects such as pain, fever, chills, migraine, epilepsy, muscle ache, reinfection, etc. to serious adverse effects such as Acute encephalopathy - Whole-cell pertussis vaccine, Guillain-Barré syndrome - Swine flu vaccine, Paralytic polio - Live attenuated oral polio vaccine, Anaphylaxis - Several different vaccines, Severe or fatal viscerotropic disease - Yellow fever vaccine, Intussusception - Rotavirus vaccine and Thrombocytopenic purpura - Measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccination.

COVID19 is a new wave of a destructive global pandemic that paralyzed daily life and economies. In a short period of 7 months, several COVID19 vaccines (inactivated virus, spike protein, mRNA, DNA) underway with the efficacy of 90-95%. FDA approved vaccines for COVID19 (12/12/2020). Little known about short-term and long-term adverse effects. Most of the mild adverse effects are similar to other vaccines but the long-term effects are unknown.

Turmeric is a very popular golden spice that is widely used as a supplement. Earlier I have summarised scientific evidence to use turmeric for the COVID19 virus pandemic. Turmeric and its active compounds curcumins (2-5%) have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Curcumins inhibit dozens of human viruses, proinflammatory cytokines, “cytokine storm”, nerve damage, and enhance tissue remodeling of airway and lungs. Turmeric/curcumins enhance immunity. Curcumin boosts BCG and cancer vaccine effectiveness. And also may enhance vaccination efficacy of viral and bacterial vaccines. Curcumins may block the fever, fatigue, cough, pain, swelling, inflammation, host ‘Cytokine Storm’ and acute respiratory distress syndrome in vaccinated populations. Curcumins are liver, heart, and kidney protective agents that may prevent harm from these vaccines (if any) to these organs. At least 2-5% of infected populations do not recover from infection or vaccine is ineffective, to such populations turmeric may find useful.

How to use Turmeric: Boil turmeric powder & freshly ground black pepper, clove, and cinnamon in filtered water or fresh turmeric root juice, fresh ginger juice, do not boil this. Allow to cool, then add coconut oil, milk and raw honey mix, cardamom, and take empty stomach, eat or drink after 30 minutes. Raw Honey has Plenty of pollens and phenolic compounds. Take this before, after vaccination effective period (around 60 days) Fresh ginger juice, cardamom, raw honey, and clove enhances the Turmeric/Curcumins activity. Boiling turmeric with water at 70 to 80ºC for 10 minutes increases the solubility of Curcumin in water by 12 fold without losing its molecular integrity and biological activity. Controlling blood sugar will enhance immunity. Some of the viruses (Possibly Vaccines) increase blood glucose levels. Cinnamon is a natural blood sugar lowering spice. Lowers Blood glucose & Uric acid/inflammation during Vaccination. Turmeric may enhance host immunity and increase the efficacy of vaccines.
