Frontline bank staff should be well-versed in local languages: FM

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that it is important to have staff who are well-versed in local languages at banks.

"We cannot have staff who don't speak the local language and...demand from citizens that they speak in a particular language," she said, adding that banks need to look at language skills of the staff posted at branch levels.
