At least 40 customers of a private bank in Mumbai, including actress Shweta Menon, were cheated of lakhs of rupees within three days.
They lost the money after clicking on a link sent via fake text messages to update their KYC and PAN details.
The message read, "Dear customer your Bank ACCOUNT has Been Blocked Today...Please Update Your PAN CARD."
