Six Russian aircraft were intercepted by US fighter jets as they were operating in international airspace near Alaska, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said.
Issuing a statement over the same, NORAD said, "This Russian activity in the North American ADIZ occurs regularly and isn't seen as...threat."
The intercepted Russian planes included TU-95 bombers and SU-35 fighter jets.
