Amidst Guru Jayanti Celebrations, YDS Announces New Temple In Chicago

CHICAGO – Dr CM Patel, President of the Yogi Divine Society, Chicago has called upon the community to wholeheartedly participate in the inauguration of soon-to-open SAPS Haridham Sokhda Temple & Culture Center. He was speaking at the Guru Jayanti Celebrations that marked the 89th Birth Anniversary of Sect’s spiritual head Guru Hariprasad Swami Maharaj. Chicago’s local spiritual leader Shri Dinkarbhai Patel was the guest of honor.

Yogi Divine Society is the Chicago based unit of ‘Shri Akshar Puroshotam Swami Narayan Haridham Sokhda (SAP HS),’ a Swaminarayan Sect headquartered in Sokhda in Gujarat. YDS is engaged in construing a temple for the Sect in Schaumburg. It is located at 540 Martingale Road, Schaumburg, Illinois.

Over 340 people attended the celebrations. CH Nanavati, Secretary YDS , was the Master of Ceremony. Prominent amongst these included, Kanti N Patel PRO YDS, Rajesh Patel, Bhailal Patel, Rakesh Malhotra, Jayesh Patel, Jatinder Bedi, Chirag Chavda, and Prashant Modi.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr CM Patel stated that the construction of the 25000 Square feet two-story temple is ninety percent complete. The idols for the temple, he said, are awaited from India and the ‘praan pratishta’ shall follow soon thereafter.

Kanti N Patel PRO YDS stated that Guru Purnima Mahotsav will be celebrated with great pomp and show in Chicago on 9th and 10th of July 2022. Many dignitaries are expected to attend from all over the United States, Mr Kanti Patel, he added.

The celebrations comprised a special with prayers and ‘bhajan aradhana.’ Members of the youth wing of the YDS recited the bhajans. Videos and multimedia presentations highlighting the life of Swami Hariprasad Maharaj and his community oriented youth endeavors were screened.

It was narrated as to how Swami Hariprasad Maharaj set a self-example from his life as a devotee as well as a spiritual Guru. It needs a mention that Swami Hariprasad Maharaj has rested in Akshardham on 26th July 2021. He had declared Swami Prem Swarup Maharaj as his divine successor of the SAP HS Sect.

During the celebrations, a photo-cut-out of Swami Prem Swarup Maharaj was brought in by the children and youth with great enthusiasm. At the celebrations, Shri Dinkarbhai Patel blessed the devotees. He encouraged the devotees to follow the life of Swami ji in life and spirit. Shri Dinkarbhai also advised them to follow Guruhari Swamiji’s message of harmony and unity. The celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and Aarti of Thakorji.
