Historic Win For Aditya Gupta. Adjudged State’s Top Chess Player
Ranks Amongst Top 5 At US Level
Chicago’s Aditya Gupta has won prestigious "2023 Scholar Chess Award" that is given to the top five outstanding player in the United States. The US Chess Federation bestows this award based upon student’s Chess Skills, Academics, Leadership Abilities, and Sportsmanship.
In the long history of the award, he is only the second player to win from the State of Illinois; and first in the last 5 years. It is quite a big achievement for the State of Illinois to have a US Chess Scholar recipient.
Aditya Gupta is a High School Junior at William Fremd High School, in Palatine, Illinois. Aditya Gupta has many achievements to his credit. He is a Chess National Master, the title rarely given to a U18 player. He also is a the Illinois Junior Chess Champion.
Aditya Gupta is also a nationally-ranked mathlete and coder. He is top ranked in the prestigious USA Computing Olympiad. Besides winning numerous other competitions, Aditya Gupta has also at the top of academics in his school.
Aditya started playing chess tournaments in his early age. While he was still in 3rd grade, Aditya became a National Master in high school freshman year.
He has founded a non-profit named ‘Chess Pupils Foundation’ ( https://chess.thepuzzlr.com/ ). Through this Foundation, Aditya gives free Chess instructions to the students at local schools. He also runs a Math website (https://thepuzzlr.com/) along with a You Tube channel ( https://www.youtube.com/thepuzzlr ) to provide free content to students preparing for competitive math.
