AMRITSAR: Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University facing serious allegation of sexual harassment as one of the GNDU lady professor has shot complaint against Vice Chancellor Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu who was recently appointed VC when Congress formed Government in Punjab.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Jagmohan Singh confirming the complaint filed by the lady victim said that Commissioner Police Amritsar has formed SIT to investigate the allegations of victim who also shot her complaint to chief Minister and Governor of Punjab.

Lady in her complaint alleged, “ she is being harassed by the Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University since the time he has joined office i.e 16 august 2017. The reason behind this harassment and exploitation is my straight front refusal to satisfy sexual favours asked by Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu before he had joined the office of VC when he was professor Dean and Director in the Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar”.

“On 18 th December 2017 I was called by the VC Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu on account of some departmental issues. When I entered the office Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu was sitting alone and during the talks he just smiled and tauntingly said that I would face adverse consequences as I was not cooperating with him and thereafter I was removed from the headship for department of Music”, she alleged.

VC was not available for comments inspite of phone call and sms, but PRO GNDU Parveen Puri, conforming about the complaint of lady said that lady was creating disturbance in the department and students was not happy with her arrogant behaviour. A committee was formed by the VC to examine all the issues raised by students and then she was removed from headship and afterwards she filed sexual harassment charges against VC in order to get her lost headship back.
